The Turkish Chess Federation President Ali Nihat Yazici is confident that the Olympiad-2012 in Istanbul will be held at the highest level, although he acknowledges that matching Khanty-Mansiysk is not easy. The pressconference was also attended by young members of the Turkish team Baris Esen and Emre Can. 
The leader of the French team Maxime Vachier-Lagrave and his captain Arnaud Hauchard visited the presscenter of the Olympiad and shared their impressions on the event. 
The Chess player from Ugra Vladimir Genba has been dreaming to play at the Olympiad since he was a child. Even when Khanty-Mansiysk won the the bidding procedure to host this event, he was not sure he would make it to the national team. 
The representatives of Botswana (Africa) spent no less than 44 hours to get to Khanty-Mansiysk, but they are nevertheless happy to be here. At least the coach Kelathilwe Kelapile and the participant of the women’s team Mokgacha Keitumetse are talking about it. 
The TV Company “Ugra” prepares stories on the most interesting moments of chess battles and backstage events of the 39th World Chess Olympiad that is taking place here in Khanty-Mansiysk from 20 September to 4 October 2010. 
Chess players from Latvia, Estonia, Bulgaria, Malaysia and Vietnam as well as 2 thousand citizens of Khanty-Mansiysk participated in the race.
Sunday was the first rest day at the 39th Chess Olympiad in Khanty-Mansiysk. Some players took part in the National Cross-Country Race, others preferred to walk around the city, and the members of Russia-3 (Ugra) team met with local chess fans.
The representatives of the national team of Iran: General Secretary of the Chess Federation Hadi Karimi, national chess champion Ghazal Hakimifard and the captain of the women’s team Aloyzas Kvenis spoke about chess development on the motherland of this ancient game. 
On 26 September the national Russian jogging day named “National Cross - Country Race” will be celebrated in Khanty-Mansiysk. The first race for 1 kilometer will start at 10 a.m. from Ice Stadium. The participants and the guests of the 39th World Chess Olympiad together with Ugorian people will take part in this mass start. The outcome of the race will be announced at the awarding ceremony.
