The Governor of Ugra Natalya Komarova and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Government Alexander Zhukov met with chess players and shared their impressions on the 39th World Chess Olympiad.
The head of the Okrug and the Deputy Prime Minister visited the venue of the Olympiad before the start of the final round, where the chess players from 153 countries have been competing for the champions’ titles for two weeks. Read more »

Ukrainian men’s national team won the Olympiad in Khanty-Mansiysk

The national men’s team of Ukrain became gold medalist of the 39 th World Chess Olympiad in Khanty-Mansiysk.

The last match of Ukraine against Israel ended in a draw and they finished one point ahead of their main opponent Russia – 1 that in the same round shared points with the national team of Spain. Russians won silver. Read more »

The Govenor of Ugra Natalya Komarova awarded the first special prizes of the 39th World Chess Olympiad

The youngest participants of the tournament received memorable Governor Cups and the symbol of Khanty-Mansiysk nations tournament – a mammoth - from the hands of the Head of the Okrug. All  these 10-year-old players: Jivon Park (Korea), Danitza Vazquez (Puerto Rico), Gabriella Johnson (Trinidad and Tobago) and Men-Wei Ho (Chinese Taipei) became the trophy holders. Natalya Komarova wanted this Olympiad to become valuable experience for the future victories.  Read more »
